Update:

Revolutionary Road: i have 'in-humane' high expectation on this movie. Aired in USA last year 26Dec, i waited exactly 4months before Singapore decide to screen it.

Main reason for wanting to watch is of cus my 'used-to-be-hot' Leo. Seriously, i missed the Romeo-version of Leo. He was like the most beautiful guy i saw in year 1997. But now, i wonder why he still manage to score all those super model with his fat face and plumpy stomch. Yucks. On the other hand, this proved that i'm not all about appearance right? If i am i wouldn't even spend $10 on him.
Alright, back to the movie. It revolves around a young couple (actually, both kate and Leo look kind of old), who have very different characters. One of them longs to escape her daily routine and move the whole family to the promising land; Paris, where she hopes will bring meaning to their life. The other agrees to the Paris idea at first but after a sudden promotion in his career, he wanted nothing but to stay at where he is, doing what he did best. Lots of arguements and questionable parts in the movie. No main point and no conclusion after the 120mins. The endings left me "Huh? End liao ar?" Nonetheless, i kind of like all the raw emotion both of them try and sucessfully protrayed in the movie. I don't remember seeing such acting in the chinese movie industry ever.

So Leo, i still love and supports your movie no matter how fat you become.

Updates

Warning: This will be a long entry.

17 again: when i first saw the poster, i know i have to watch this movie.
of cus' like everyone else, i acted that i am interested cus of the storyline, which goes something like this: oh-so-handsome-Zac regretted his decision of giving up his basketball scholarship zillion yrs ago and spent the next 20yrs whining abt it. Of cus later on, he was given a chance to re-live his 17 again (hence the title) and he realized that the decision he made zillion years ago is actually the best decision he ever made in his life; he just need some reminder.
Ok, enough of the somewhat boring storyline. Now, let me bring you thru the journey during and after the movie. First of all, i kind of made a mistake by watching this movie with pig. I have to literally pinch myself to stop the shriek that threatens to come out of my mouth every single time Zac appear on screen.
I reminded myself a thousand times that i must not appear superfical. And then 30mins into the movie, Zac transformed into this high school student (poster pic) who drive a white lamborgini. I mean who can resists that? Thus, i "woo.. hoo...ed" and the pig sitting next to me gave me such a look that i felt guilty and i predicted every word he's going to say.

Afterward...

pig: so you asked me to get the tickets to this movie cus of that guy?
panda: you mean Zac? (innerly: you mean "i-can't-wait-to-eat-him-up-Zac"?)
pig: whatever. i dun care abt his name. (impatient looks)
panda: Oh, No! of cus not! (innerly: YES! 100% YES)
pig: you shriek-ed in front of me.
panda: ar ya, you cannot deny that he is good looking right? (innerly: dun lie to yourself la.)
pig: he is ok.
panda: (major roll-eyeing) if Zac is ok, who is good-looking? (dun tell me is YOU, i will kill myself)
pig: Leo?
panda: Leo? (my leo? OMG. i love pig. seriously. i dun care abt Zac. Who is Zac?)
pig: ya. and tom cruise also.
panda: (toothy-smile)

but thru out the way to pig's hse, he cannot stop hammering me cus i "woo.. hoo...ed" other guys in front of him.
then the chance for revenge came.

pig to his younger sis: mei, you watched "17 again"?
pig's sis: nope. why?
pig: you know that guy?
pig's sis: you mean Zac?
pig: ya, whatever.
pig's sis: why?
pig: do you think he is handsome?
pig's sis: he ar... ok loh.
(what the hell is wrong with everyone?)
pig: did you hear that panda?
panda: silent. (inner: get a life la.)
pig: mei, if i and that guy, who more handsome?
i'm sure i heard that wrongly. why would he want to slap himself on his own face?
pig's mei: Zac is a hundred times more yandao then you.
pig's mei: Nono... strike that. Zac is infinity (her exact word) yandao when compare to you.
YES! YES! THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I feel much better.
and for the record, i dun want to be 17 again. never again.

Updates:

Knowing: it's not my choice.'cus of nicholas cage. kind of boycotted him after "Ghost Rider". As always, i find him old and i hate his hair.
This movie started off mysterically with a time capsule buried 50 years ago. Each student was supposed to draw a picture of the future. 50years later the capsule was digged out and the chilling predicted events that follows kept me on the edge of my seat for the rest of the 120mins. There were alot of scary part that caused me to let out mini screams and i love it! and also nicholas cage displayed such strong fatherly love towards his son that he nearly made me cried. I never know nicholas cage can do that to me!
i've never have any interest in diaster-related movie before but i really liked 'knowing'. everything about the movie is perfect. choose this movie during the weekend and you will find yourself thinking about what you will do if the world is ending tonight.

Updates:

Confessions of a shopaholic: i chose this movie tis week simply cus' there wasn't much movies in the cinema. I read the book version 1-2years ago and can't remember much of it except there's this crazy shopping girl who ended up bag-ing a handsome rich bf. Well, watching the movie version is much much better, cus' the handsome bf is really handsome (duh!) with a delicious British accent. Not much surprise in the movie. I hate that the shopping gal wear gloves in almost all of her glamours outfits. It looks so stupid on her. Luckily, there was the yummy British guy who smoothes things up. There were quite a few funny parts which i don't find them funny while reading. So i guess, you don't need to read the book to watch the movie. Watch it if you have absolutely no where to spend your 10bucks on a weekend.
